During my five weeks at RYZE, the most important thing I learned was the company's unwavering commitment to quality over quantity. In an industry often dominated by KPIs and the number of candidates recommended, this came as a surprise. I came to understand that it isn’t about finding a matching candidate for the client—it’s about finding the match, the perfect candidate. Working in an environment like RYZE didn’t just teach me the job; it instilled in me a lasting desire to pursue excellence.

What made my time at RYZE especially positive was the environment. As someone who has spent more time outside of Japan, I deeply appreciated the fully bilingual nature of the office and the welcoming, open-minded approach of the team. This made it easy to ask questions (of which there were many) and I was never made to feel like I was asking too much. I can assure you there were a lot, maybe too many things I didn't know when I started but thanks to my colleagues, I was able to figure everything out.

A particularly meaningful part of my learning experience was the guidance and mentorship of our VP, David Solway. Dave’s unparalleled expertise opened my eyes to industries, roles, and career paths I didn’t even know existed. His mentorship not only gave me a broader understanding of the professional world but also helped me evaluate and reconsider the direction I want to take in my own career. Most importantly, working under Dave taught me to think more critically and empathetically about client needs. I learned to look beyond job descriptions and stated requirements and to deconstruct and analyze the true intentions behind a role. A skill like this is foundational yet universal across industries, and I can’t think of a better place to develop it than at RYZE, where quality is the priority.
